The Vanishing Village Part- 2: The Cursed Bell

“Some sounds are not merely heard… they haunt you forever.”
After returning from Black Hollow, Ethan Parker’s life was never the same again.
Every night at exactly 6:15, he heard the same bell.
Dong
He would wake up in terror.
There was never anyone in the room.
Yet the old leather map on his desk unfolded by itself every single night.
A new red line had begun appearing on it…
A line that had never been there before.
Ethan realized one thing…
The mystery of The Vanishing Village was far from over.

Three weeks later, Ethan received an envelope with no sender’s name.
Inside was nothing but an old piece of paper.
Written on it were the words:
“If you wish to understand the bell… go to the place where it was first forged.”
Below that was only one name—
Ashen Monastery
Ethan searched the internet for hours.
There was no record of the place.
The only reference he found was in a two-hundred-year-old diary that read:

Ashen Monastery was the place where mankind tried to imprison time itself.”

Ethan returned to Black Hollow once again.
This time, the townspeople looked even more frightened to see him.
An elderly woman approached him.
“You’ve come back?”
“I need to know the truth about the bell.”
She trembled.
“If the bell awakens… this time the whole world will hear its voice.”
She pointed toward the distant mountains.
“The monastery lies there… where even sunlight cannot fully reach.”
The next morning, Ethan began climbing the mountains alone.
The higher he climbed, the quieter the trail became.
A thick fog surrounded everything.
The dry branches of ancient trees swayed as though they were warning him in a language he could not understand.
Then the mysterious bell echoed once again—
Dong
Ethan pulled out the old leather map.
Each time the bell rang, the red line stretched a little farther.
He realized the map was guiding him toward the monastery.
Along the trail he discovered ancient stones carved with strange symbols.
They looked like warnings left behind by travelers centuries ago.

The Vanishing Village: The Cursed Bell – Ethan Parker crossing the haunted bridge to Ashen Monastery.

Farther ahead stood a broken wooden bridge.
Below it was a bottomless abyss hidden beneath the fog.
As Ethan reached the middle of the bridge…
he heard footsteps behind him.
He turned instantly…
There was no one there.
Then a whisper brushed against his ear—
“Turn back…”
His heart pounded.
But there was no turning back anymore.
Gathering his courage, he crossed the bridge.
As soon as he reached the other side…
the fog slowly began to clear.
Standing before him was the ancient Ashen Monastery.

After hours of climbing, Ethan finally stood before the ruined stone monastery.
Its walls were covered with moss.
Hundreds of shattered bells lay scattered across the ground.
Yet in the center…
a massive black furnace was still burning.
It looked as though someone had lit it only moments ago.
Suddenly, a voice echoed behind him.
“You are late…”
Ethan turned around.
An old monk stood before him.
“Do you live here?”
“No…”
“I only guard this place.”

The monk led Ethan into a hidden cave.
There, resting on a stone pedestal, was a glowing black rock.
“This is Night Iron.”
“The cursed bell was forged from this very metal.”
Ethan asked,
“What’s so special about it?”
The monk replied,
“This metal does not trap sound…”
“It traps souls.”
Ethan’s face turned pale.

The monk began telling a story from two centuries ago.
The village near Black Hollow was ruled by a chieftain named Lord Vaelor.
“He was not born cruel…”
“In the beginning, he was a just, kind, and courageous ruler.”
He cared for the poor.
He never oppressed the farmers.
No one in the village ever went to bed hungry.
The people did not see him as a king…
They saw him as their protector.
But time shows mercy to no one.
As the years passed, Lord Vaelor grew old.
He lost his beloved wife.
Then he lost his only son.
Within a few years, all of his closest friends had died as well.
With every loss, only one fear grew stronger inside him—
The fear of death.
Slowly, that fear became his greatest obsession.
He questioned every scholar, every sorcerer, and every mystic he could find.
He asked them all the same question:
“Can I become immortal?”
One night, a mysterious dark sorcerer arrived at his castle.
He said,
“If you ring this bell six times at midnight… time itself will stop.”
“Death will never touch you.”
But he hid one terrible truth…
With every strike of the bell…
one soul would be imprisoned inside it forever.

The Vanishing Village: The Cursed Bell – Lord Vaelor ringing the cursed black bell at midnight.

Consumed by his fear of death, Lord Vaelor rang the bell without hesitation.
The first ring…
The wind stopped.
The second ring…
The rivers became completely still.
The third ring…
Every clock stopped ticking.
The fourth ring…
People stopped growing old.
The fifth ring…
The entire village was swallowed by darkness.
And with the sixth ring…
Time itself shattered.

After that night, the entire village became trapped forever at 6:15.
Every evening, the bell rang on its own.
Anyone who heard its sound…
would begin to see the lost village.
Some people walked into it…
but they never returned.
Because the bell was always searching for new souls.

Ethan asked,
“Who forged this bell?”
The monk took a deep breath.
“A master blacksmith…”
“A man whose name is no longer spoken.”
“He believed he was creating the most powerful bell the world had ever seen.”
“But the sorcerer turned his masterpiece into a vessel for the curse.”
Ethan suddenly remembered the old shopkeeper’s final words—
“I was the one who forged that bell.”
Could it be…
that the old shopkeeper was the legendary blacksmith himself?

The monk revealed another terrifying truth.
“The bell held more than just a curse…”
“A primordial entity was imprisoned inside it.”
“Every time the bell rang…”
“Its power continued to grow.”
“When you freed the village…”
“The trapped souls were finally released…”
“But the ancient entity also began to awaken.”
Ethan immediately remembered the glowing red eyes he had seen beneath the church.

The monk handed Ethan a small silver bell.
“If you ever hear the Black Bell again…”
“Ring this.”
“It will hold the curse back for a short time…”
“But not forever.”
Ethan asked,
“Does the Black Bell still exist?”
The monk smiled faintly.
“The bell can never be destroyed…”
“It only chooses a new keeper.”

The Vanishing Village: The Cursed Bell – The mysterious shopkeeper returns with the cursed black bell.

That night, Ethan stayed at a hotel in Black Hollow.
At exactly 6:15…
every clock in the room stopped.
The lights went out by themselves.
Then…
from somewhere in the distance…
the familiar sound echoed once again—
Dong…
Ethan immediately rang the silver bell.
The sound of the two bells collided.
The entire room shook violently.
A new message slowly appeared on the wall—
“The Bell Has Chosen Its Next Keeper.”
Ethan’s heart began to race.
Slowly…
he turned around.
Standing silently in the corner of the room…
was the same old shopkeeper.
But this time…
his eyes were no longer human.
They glowed with a terrifying crimson light.
And in his hand…
was the Black Bell.

If you’re new to the mystery, start from the beginning to uncover how Ethan Parker first discovered the terrifying secrets of Black Hollow.
